Let's C.R.E.A.T.E. Creative Experiences
Our Creative Experiences are engaging, stand-alone workshops for youth ages 12–21. Each experience combines creative expression, personal reflection and meaningful connection through visual arts, music, writing or digital storytelling.
BLOOM
Youth create layered botanical artwork representing their personal strengths, support systems, growth and future possibilities. Roots may symbolize where they come from, stems may represent resilience, and flowers or leaves may reflect hopes and emerging strengths.
Focus
Self-awareness, personal growth, resilience and support systems
Activities
Botanical collage, watercolor, nature-inspired art, strengths mapping and guided reflection
Beautiful Chaos
Youth use expressive marks, color, texture and movement to create mixed-media artwork inspired by emotions that may feel intense, complicated or difficult to organize. Participants then make intentional choices about how to layer, reshape or compose their work.
Focus
Emotional expression, creative choice, grounding and regulation
Activities
Abstract mark-making, painting, collage, layering, cropping and mixed-media composition
My Story, My Voice
Participants develop a short personal narrative centered on identity, culture, strengths, experiences or future vision. Youth select the storytelling method that feels most comfortable and maintain control over what they share or keep private.
Focus
Identity, youth voice, agency and self-confidence
Activities
Journaling, spoken word, audio recording, illustration, storyboarding and digital storytelling
Soundtrack of Me
Youth create a personal soundtrack or music map connecting songs, sounds and rhythms to memories, emotions, values, relationships and future hopes. No musical training or performance experience is required.
Focus
Identity, emotional awareness, memory and self-expression
Activities
Guided listening, playlist development, rhythm exploration, music mapping and creative reflection
Masks & Mirrors
Youth explore the difference between how they see themselves, how others may see them and what they choose to keep private. Participants create an inside-and-outside portrait using colors, symbols, images and words.
Focus
Self-concept, identity, boundaries and personal choice
Activities
Portrait art, mask-making, collage, symbolism, mirror reflection and inside-and-outside artwork
Letters to Future Me
Participants create a written, illustrated, designed or recorded message to their future selves. Youth reflect on their hopes, values, support systems, current choices and one achievable next step.
Focus
Hope, goal setting, self-reflection and future vision
Activities
Letter writing, illustration, audio recording, keepsake design and future-goal mapping
Color Without Words
Youth use line, shape, color, texture, pressure, space and movement to express themselves without relying on written or spoken explanations. Participants decide whether their artwork remains private or is shared with the group.
Focus
Nonverbal expression, emotional awareness, creative freedom and choice
Activities
Abstract painting, translucent layering, clay relief, movement-based mark-making and visual reflection
Create Together
Youth collaboratively design and complete a mural, banner or modular art installation. Each participant contributes an individual element while helping the group develop one connected creative vision.
Focus
Belonging, teamwork, communication and collective voice
Activities
Collaborative planning, role selection, mural-making, modular art, group problem-solving and reflection
Creative Experiences can be offered individually or combined into a customized workshop series for schools, youth programs, community organizations, family events and special gatherings. Each experience can be adapted for different age groups, timeframes, settings and accessibility needs.
